Coronation Street spoilers: Horror exit revealed for David Platts rapist Josh Tucker?
Coronation Street star Ryan Clayton has confirmed that Josh Tuckers downfall is imminent – and added that the blindness following his recent attack is just the start of his comeuppance for his attack on David Platt.
David has not got justice through the legal system for the rape he suffered at the hands of an unrepentant Josh and, even after being attacked and losing his sight, Josh continues to blame everyone but himself for his situation.
However, with departing Corrie boss Kate Oates having already assured justice in some form for David, Ryan has indicated that there are big twists before his character exits Weatherfield for good.
But could he face horrific revenge at the hands of David, Shona or even Billy, who is struggling with his emotions after being partially responsible for the attack on Josh?
The actor told Inside Soap: When youre a villain, the clock is always ticking. Josh will always consider himself the victim and protest his innocence – he wont accept that he actually did what he did to David. He definitely deserves justice and I know that viewers are interested to know how this will happen.
Perhaps his punishment has already begun, with the blindness he has suffered after being attacked – but theres still a long way to go…
Whether or not a comeuppance for Josh will bring closure for David remains to be seen but Ryan has been loving his time at Coronation Street, despite the dark nature of the storyline and the evil character that he plays.
He added: Im doing what I love every day. When you have lovely conversations with fans and realise how much they appreciate what you do, thats always nice. And everyone at Corrie has been an absolute pleasure to work with – Ive made some great friends.
