Thugs of Hindostan hit screens on November 8.

In its second day at the theaters, Thugs of Hindostan, starring Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Katrina Kaif, managed to earn Rs 29.25 crore. Whereas on its opening day, it garnered a whopping Rs 52.25 crore. It is so far the highest opening for any Bollywood film.

The total collection of the film now stands at Rs 81.50 crore.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh recently posted on Twitter, “And the DECLINE begins… #ThugsOfHindostan slips on Day 2, facing a fall during #Diwali holidays… Mass belt / single screens are holding better, but the cracks are already showing at plexes… Day 3 [Sat] and Day 4 [Sun] are extremely crucial… #TOH.”

HOT DEALS

He also tweeted, “#ThugsOfHindostan has to show a positive upturn on Day 3 [today], else its sustainability from Day 5 [Mon] onwards will be extremely doubtful… One thing is crystal clear: #TOH has NOT met the monumental expectations… The BO numbers are doing the talking now.”

The Vijay Krishna Acharya directorial Thugs of Hindostan had opened on Thursday to poor reviews. Indian Express film critic Shubhra Gupta, in her review, wrote, “The only one having a blast is Aamir Khans Awadhi thug in his carroty curls and soorma-ringed eyes. He vamps it up madly, grinning widely: the acts not new but some of it is infectious, and bearable. Just about. The rest of it is a non-stop combo of eye-roll-and-eye-glaze.”
