The 28-year-old man surnamed Cai was captured on camera with a can of white paint painting new arrows onto the road to redirect traffic. Other cars continued on their journeys and just drove round him.
This is what he told police.
“I saw that the straight lane was always packed with cars, while the lane that turns left has a lot of space. I thought changing the signs would make my commute smoother.”
And only marginally more dangerous for him and everyone else.
