Actress and comedian Mo’Nique wants her fans to boycott Netflix for ‘gender bias’ and ‘colour bias’.

The Oscar-winning comedienne has blasted Netflix for attempting to pay her less for her comedy special than they did for Amy Schumer’s special The Leather Special.

In an Instagram post, the 50-year-old explained that Schumer received $11M (£7.9million) for her special while she only got a smaller sum of $500,000 (£361,000)

‘I am asking that you stand with me and boycott Netflix for gender bias and colour bias,’ she began in a video posted Friday.

She added: ‘I was offered a $500,000-deal last week to do a comedy special. However, Amy Schumer was offered $11 million, Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle — $20 million.

‘Then Amy Schumer went and renegotiated two more million dollars because she said, “I shouldn’t get what the men are getting, they’re legends, however, I should get more”, and Netflix agreed.’

According to the Precious actress, the popular streaming site told her that they don’t look at resumes, but when pressed they explained that Amy’s more recent accomplishments landed her a bigger deal.

It has to be noted that last August, Amy rubbished a Variety article that claimed she was demanding equal pay to Rock and Chappelle.

The comedienne wrote: ‘I believe women deserve equal pay. However, I don’t believe I deserve equal pay to Chris and Dave. They are legends and two of the greatest comics of all time.’

She also said in an Instagram post: ‘I didn’t ask for the same as my friends. I did ask for more than the initial offer. I will continue to work my ass off and be the best performer I can be. The reports of me “demanding” or “insisting” on equal pay to them aren’t a true.’

In spite of her pleas Mo’Nique fans were less than enthusiastic about her call for a boycott – what a cold cold world:

Dave Chappelle got $20M per Netflix special

Chris Rock got about $20M

Amy Schumer was offered $11M (AND ATTEMPTED TO RENOGOTIATE AFTER LEARNING DAVE & CHRIS GOT $20M)

Oscar-winner Mo’Nique is offered $500K
