Generally, if Harry Styless name is attached to it, it gets the people going.

But a sitcom inspired by his early years as a popstar has fallen flat with US audiences, this week facing the axe from CBS after just two months, Variety reports.

Starring New Girls Damon Wayans Jr and executive produced by Harry himself, family comedy Happy Together wont be getting more episodes owing to a dwindling viewing audience.

The sitcom follows the true story of how Harry began covertly living with 1Ds video producer Ben Winston (played by Damon) and his wife Meredith (played by Amber Stevens West) in London for almost two years when he first joined One Direction.

However, the success of the show is being put down to Harrys resistance to be involved, despite claims he will earn £100,000 from the show.

Happy Together just kept underperforming from week one and its time was limited, a source told The Sun. In the end CBS just walked away.

One of the major problems was the fact Harry would not appear in the series, even though the show was promoted around his life.

He didnt attend any major PR launches or even spend just a few hours with the cast.

It was reportedly no mean feat to secure Wayans for the sitcom, which began in October, as he was on everyones radar during pilot season, off the back of his success with New Girl.

And the true story is one that not many fans knew until Ben, whos now producing the show, shared an insight into what life was like for the threesome.

The truth of it is Harry became a huge part of our family Ben said in August. We never wanted him to move out.

He would prefer to live in this sort of modern suburban family unit rather than living on his own in a mansion. And I think everybody can relate to that, regardless of how famous you are.
