Now that summers here, you might not have as many network shows to keep up with. But Hulu has plenty of new titles to hold your attention until fall premiere season rolls around. Below, find our recommendations for what to watch on Hulu in June—as well as the complete list of everything thats coming to and leaving from the platform this month.

TV

Whats arriving…

The Weekly Season 1 (June 3)

The New York Times, having made a runaway hit of its podcast The Daily, is now moving into the world of television with The Weekly. A coproduction of Hulu and FX, each episode of The Weekly will feature a different Times journalist reporting in-depth on an issue, such as migrant family separations at the southern border, or the financial pressures on New York taxi drivers. Sounds like lighthearted summer fun.

The Handmaids Tale Season 3 (June 5)__

Having long since moved past the events of Margaret Atwoods original novel, the dystopian drama continues. And while its second season was widely regarded as a disappointment, early notices promise a return to form in season three, as June/Offred (Emmy winner Elisabeth Moss) reckons with her decision not to escape Gilead—as America is known following a theocratic revolution—when given the chance to do so last year.

Das Boot Season 1 (June 17)

Wolfgang Petersens feature adaptation of Lothar-Günther Buchheims novel is widely regarded as one of the best German films of all time. The miniseries is a sequel to the film, picking up nine months after the events of the movie and splitting its plot between the original German U-boat setting and the French resistance, and starring Mad Mens Vincent Kartheiser and Masters of Sexs Lizzy Caplan.

Whats arriving…

Ask Dr. Ruth (June 1)

Dr. Ruth Westheimer made her name as a pop-culture icon by talking frankly about sex while being a tiny old lady. Coinciding with Westheimers 90th birthday, documentarian Ryan White (The Keepers; The Case Against 8) explores her life, including her experience as a Holocaust survivor and how she built her career as a sex therapist.

Independence Day (June 1)

Just in time for both its 23rd birthday and a recent Times report about navy pilots UFO sightings, Independence Day arrives on Hulu to remind us about the dos and donts of alien invasions—particularly ones that coincide with significant American holidays.

Shakespeare in Love (June 6)

Scholars may disagree about what inspired William Shakespeare during the first staging of Romeo & Juliet, but John Maddens best-picture Oscar winner makes it very clear: a love affair with a high-born lady passing as a man in order to play his tragic hero. (Gwyneth Paltrow also won an Oscar for playing Viola, collaborator and muse to Joseph Fienness Shakespeare.)

True Grit (June 30)

Following their best-picture Oscar win for the modern western No Country for Old Men, writer-directors Joel and Ethan Coen returned to the genre—and later to the Oscars—with True Grit, adapted from Charles Portiss novel (as was a previous film, in 1969, starring John Wayne). When her father is murdered, teen Mattie Ross (Hailee Steinfeld) hires crotchety U.S. Marshal Rooster Cogburn (Jeff Bridges) to track down the killer.

…and leaving

Eastern Promises (June 30)

When one of her patients dies in childbirth, British-Russian midwife Anna (Naomi Watts) discovers her diary and uses it to try to find out more about her. A visit to a restaurant the girl had frequented brings Anna into contact with the Russian mafia, where she strikes up a relationship with a Mob bosss driver, Nikolai (Viggo Mortensen, who earned a best-actor Oscar nomination for his performance).
