Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles) has made no secret of the fact that shes head over heels for Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) in Emmerdale. However, the dishy docs refusal to answer any questions relating to his deceased wife Lara has been something of a sore spot for Bernice and, as a result, shes decides to investigate further — and shes set to make a shocking discovery.
Just when Bernice thought shed finally found happiness, Liams odd behaviour has made her question everything she knows about the man she loves. And its no wonder — as both Bernice and the viewers seemingly know very little about him. Although Liam has frequented the village for over five years, the character only really became a mainstay last year after his marriage to Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein) crumbled — something which led to him starting a relationship with Bernice.

With tensions running high, Bernice has been growing incredibly frustrated by Liams inability to open up to her about his troubled past. As a result, she decided to get some answers for herself by doing her best impression of an Agatha Christie character — which led to her discovering a balaclava in Liams bag several weeks back.
If that wasnt enough to give her nightmares, then her next discovery most certainly will, as — with Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) in tow — she discovers a bloody shirt and a scalpel in her boyfriends briefcase.
