Strictly Come Dancing judge Motsi Mabuse has slammed choreographer Louie Spencer for claiming she was hired because of the colour of her skin.

Reminding everyone that there is already a woman of colour on the show – her sister Oti – Motsi admitted that it was funny to be attacked by someone whom she had never met.

Louie, best known for appearing in the reality show Pineapple Dance Studios in 2010, called the former dance champion a nobody and suggested that current dancer Anton Du Beke would have been better for the job.

Now, Motsi, who will join Craig Revel Horwood, Bruno Tonioli and Shirley Ballas on the judging panel, has said: It would be really sad if someone chose me for my colour only.

I think a person of colour in any situation should be qualified to do the job. Not just because of the colour of their skin.
