Everyone seems to be up for Theresa May’s latest Brexit plan to solve the Irish border question apart from …

1.

Northern Ireland

"Northern Ireland must leave the EU on the same terms as the rest of the UK, we will not accept any form of regulatory divergence" – DUP leader Arlene Foster on #Brexit talks https://t.co/VKDYRXgOLkpic.twitter.com/e0FqI0NDq0

2.

Scotland

If one part of UK can retain regulatory alignment with EU and effectively stay in the single market (which is the right solution for Northern Ireland) there is surely no good practical reason why others can’t.

— Nicola Sturgeon (@NicolaSturgeon) December 4, 2017

3.

Wales

We cannot allow different parts of the UK to be more favourably treated than others. If one part of the UK is granted continued participation in the Single Market & Customs Union, then we fully expect to be made the same offer.

4.

London

Huge ramifications for London if Theresa May has conceded that it's possible for part of the UK to remain within the single market & customs union after Brexit. Londoners overwhelmingly voted to remain in the EU and a similar deal here could protect tens of thousands of jobs.

5.

The EU, obviously.

UK PM Theresa May and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker confirm UK and EU have not reached agreement on first phase of #Brexit deal https://t.co/UEqjIb9s51pic.twitter.com/vErjQpAZtG

Which leaves the nation in an interesting position.

There now seems to be a serious concern that the offer being put on the table by the U.K. is not acceptable to… the U.K.

Here’s how other people responded on Twitter.

BREXIT UPDATE: Everyone now has their own border. The country makes no sense. Going to tesco for milk is now an international trade deal. Help us.

? Nobody* said it was easy
No one** ever said it would be this hard ?

*Except the Leave campaign
**Except the Remain campaign

Hope somebody is keeping a list of all the bits of the UK that want. "regulatory alignment" with the EU. So far I've got Northern Ireland, Scotland, London, farms, banks, universities, healthcare, Grimsby and Cornwall.

A reminder of the government’s suggestions for the Irish border. Looks like they may still be going for the last one. pic.twitter.com/2bXkUwBkCC

If it’s all a bit complicated (it is for us) this should make things easier.

The areas in YELLOW voted to REMAIN in the European Union so will continue to TRADE FREELY within the EU. There will be a HARD BORDER between the YELLOW and BLUE areas, who voted to LEAVE. The RED LINES represent a SERIES OF ELABORATE ZIPWIRES to transport PEOPLE and GOODS. pic.twitter.com/VS5ylmrXCD

It'd be really fun if the entire UK claimed 'regulatory alignment' with the EU apart from a field in Kent. Field rammed with mad Brexit lunatics. Car boot meets Beyond Thunderdome.
