‘Narcos’ Adds Michael Peña & Diego Luna For Season 4 On Netflix

Michael Peña and Diego Luna are the latest names to be caught up in Netflix’s drug-trafficking saga. The pair have been cast in Season 4 of Narcos, which recently began production in Mexico City for a 2018 premiere.

The streaming service offered no details about their characters or a logline for the fourth season.

In Season 3, the bloody hunt for Pablo Escobar had ended, and the DEA and agent Javier Peña (Pedro Pascal) turned their attention to the powerful Cali Cartel and its four Kings: cartel leader Gilberto Rodriguez Orejuela (Damian Alcazar); Miguel Rodriguez Orejuela (Francisco Denis), the brains behind the rise of the of Cali Cartel and Gilberto’s brother; Pacho Herrera (Alberto Ammann), the on-the-low hitman who runs the Mexican connection and international distribution; and Chepe Santacruz Londono (Pepe Rapazote), who runs the satellite NYC empire of the Colombian drug network.

Peña most recently starred in the big-screen version of CHIPS, along with Collateral Beauty, Ant-Man, The Martian and American Hustle, for which he shared an Ensemble SAG Award. He has several films in various stages of completion including 12 Strong, A Wrinkle in Time and Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Luna played Cassian Andor in last year’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and his recent screen credits also include Flatliners, Blood Father and Elysium. Next up are the features Berlin, I Love You and A Rainy Day in New York.

Peña also starred in Luna’s 2014 English-language directing debut Cesar Chavez, playing the civil rights leader who co-founded the United Farm Workers Union.

Peña is repped by CAA, Management 360 and Stone Genow; Luna is with WME and Hirsch Wallerstein.
