Holly Willoughby joked shes safe after getting suckered in by a horrific April Fools Day prank from Phillip Schofield on This Morning.

Holly was reduced to tears after a makeover on Mondays This Morning seemingly went spectacularly wrong.

Shes now made a full recovery and was glad not to have to be on her guard for the entire show the following day.

As Tuesdays episode kicked off, Phil said: Its April the 2nd so youre safe

Holly added: Im safe today thank God for that.

On the April Fools Day episode, Carol Elliott, a 46-year-old mum was supposedly nominated by her husband to have a makeover for their 25th anniversary.

Emerging from the changing rooms in a pink dress with thick eye make-up and big curly hair, Holly pretended to be impressed, but Carol was less so when she saw herself in the mirror.

Carol, who was an actress called Amy, had a meltdown over her makeover and was quickly offered alternatives to make her feel better.

Phillip sent them off on a romantic trip, but things took a turn for the worse when the car crashed and caught fire.

A panicked Holly tried to cut to an ad break…and it was then it was revealed that the whole thing was a set up.

Crying in relief more than anything, Holly admitted she hated the makeover and was horrified as she was convinced it was all real.
