Netflix and Media Rights Capital have confirmed that production on House Of Cards was ‘not impacted’ by the recent shooting just outside of the US city of Baltimore and that the cast and crew remain safe.

‘We have been in touch with local authorities and are aware of a shooting situation that happened about a mile away from the House of Cards set,’ they said in a statement.

‘Production on the show has not been impacted.’

It was originally thought that production on season six of the hit political drama had been shut down temporarily after three people were shot dead and two others wounded in what authorities called a ‘targeted attack’.

Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler identified the shooter on Wednesday morning as 37-year-old Radee Labeeb Prince.

He said Prince opened fire with a handgun and police are looking for him. He is considered armed and dangerous. The suspect and the victims were all associated with a company at the Emmorton Business Park in Edgewood. The sheriff says the two wounded people are in serious condition. Nearby schools have been locked down as a precaution.

The sheriff said during a press briefing: ‘Deputies discovered five people suffering from gunshot wounds. Currently we have lost three of those people — three have passed away.

‘It is the result of a handgun, it looks like a single weapon was used in this incident.’

The business park is just south of the Interstate 95 interchange with Route 24.
