Anthony Joshua has revealed he has spoken to Tyson Fury about a potentially fight in 2018, once the heavyweight returns to boxing.

AJ explains why Takam is actually better than Pulev

The 28-year-old has flourished in Fury’s absence and now holds three world titles that once belonged to his British rival.

Fury has outlined his plans to return to boxing next year, even suggesting he was targeting three fights, but he is currently under investigation by UKAD for a potential anti-doping offence.

The former unified world champion is also without a boxing licence, but Joshua has insisted that despite the rivalry between them, he will help Fury in whatever way he can.

‘Besides all that (fighting him), if there’s anything I can do to help support and help him get back in ring, I would do because we need people like him it brings out the best in the sport, it brings eyes to the sport and it benefits everyone,’ he told TalkSport.

Be ready to fight in April 2018 in a great fight! & again in the summer in a mega fight! & again in back end of year. 3 big fights in 2018.

‘I’m looking forward to him getting back and adding a bit more dust to the storm because he’s talented he’s a good fighter.’

He added: ‘I’ve managed to contact him – he’s managed to contact me and everything you probably see on social is the same thing that happens behind the scenes.’

Fury has suffered from bouts of depression and it was mental health issues that forced his initial hiatus from boxing.

The 29-year-old has pleaded with UKAD to rule on his case and continues to insist he has not broken any anti-doping regulations.

It comes hot on the heels of Fury insisting he would not reapply to the British Boxing Board of Control for another licence.

Joshua is confident a fight with Fury will happen, but the Olympic champion is fully focused on his next opponent.
