Two alleged thieves were forced to sit half-naked and blindfolded on a busy road after being caught reportedly stealing cars.

The young men were reprimanded by locals of Culiacan, a city in the Mexican state of Sinaloa, and had warning messages scrawled across their bodies.

They were then left on the central reservation of the Boulevard Francisco Labastida Ochoa with their hands tied behind their backs.

The duo, whose names were not published, were on full view of city drivers, and many filmed them as they passed by.

When the pair realised that no help was forthcoming, they decided to risk crossing the busy road without vision and hide in the public park on the other side.

Although the incident was posted across social media, no one called the police to help them.
