Yasmin, a beauty queen from Swansea, is hoping to settle down and find love because she doesn’t want to end up ‘on the shelf’. She’s 23-years-old by the way.
Yasmin was the only Muslim to take part in pageant Miss Swansea in 2012, and reveals that her family weren’t exactly thrilled about her decision to be a beauty queen.
She says: ‘If your daughter becomes a doctor then it’s great innit, but if your daughter becomes a beauty queen it’s a bit like ugh!’
Yasmin, who – may we remind you – is only 23, adds that her family are hoping to see her settle down so she doesn’t end up alone.
‘When you’re growing up in an Asian household you go to university, you get a doctor’s degree, and then you get married and settle down,’ Yasmin says.
‘So when you’re 23 years old and you’re still not settled down it’s almost like you’re collecting dust on the shelf.’
Anyone over 23 should just give up hope then!
On the show she gets paired up with 29-year-old Welshman Matt who, like Yasmin, is really into meditation and seems to be into Yasmin too. Does she feel the same?
