In the wake Matt Lauer’s firing from NBC due to sexual misconduct allegations, the network found themselves short a host for their annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony at the Rockefeller Center which happened tonight in New York.

The annual event did not replace Lauer and went on with previously announced hosts Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker, and Hoda Kotb.

The tree lighting is a major tradition in New York and the country as it kicks off the holiday season. Millions of viewers tune in to watch the lighting as well as music performances. This year’s event included performances by Brett Eldredge, Jennifer Nettles, Leslie Odom Jr., Pentatonix, Gwen Stefani, and the Tenors.

Earlier today, NBC News fired longtime Today show anchor Matt Lauer Monday night after receiving a detailed complaint from a colleague about inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace.
