Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield – who are known for their on-screen banter – got a serious case of the giggles on This Morning on Thursday.
Holly, 36, and Phillip, 55, couldn’t contain their laughter as they made an unfortunate autocue gaffe about the UK snow.
The pair admitted they got ‘overexcited’ about snow falling in London and changed the autocue in the ad break to read that it was ‘snowing heavily’ – before the snow promptly stopped when they came back on-air.
Phil said: ‘Welcome back, we just had a minor flurry here.’
The pair of them chuckling like schoolchildren, Holly said: ‘We really got excited here, in fact so excited that we put “it’s been snowing heavily here” on the autocue and obviously now it’s not. We really did get overexcited.’
Sarcastically, Phil said: ‘It really is a minor flurry. You can barely see St. Pauls!’
Holly said of the snow: ‘It’s so heavy it’s not even settling. It’s like a snow globe… A broken one.’
