Following the news that The Jump has been axed by Channel 4 in 2018, we are seriously looking forward to the start of Dancing On Ice to get our winter sports fix.
It looks like we haven’t got long to wait as the start date has been confirmed as Sunday, January 7th 2018, reports OK.co.uk.
Metro Ents has contacted ITV for confirmation.
Four years after it was axed, it was announced that the ice skating show will return to ITV with original hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
The show ran out of steam when Holly left in 2011 and Christine Bleakley stepped in for the final few years, before the show eventually hit the cutting room floor.
Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean have also confirmed they’re returning for the next series, but they’re playing a slightly different role.
The Olympic-winning ice skating legends announced they would be returning to the show as judges instead of their previous coaching role.

The celebrity line-up for the show includes Bake Off winner Candice Brown, Love Island’s Kem Cetinay and Coronation Street’s Brooke Vincent.
Dancing On Ice returns in the New Year.
