France’s Federation Entertainment, maker of The Bureau and Marseille, is teaming with Italian indie Palomar to co-produce That Dirty Black Bag. Currently in development, the western steampunk series is created by Mauro Aragoni who is co-scripting with Silvia Ebreul and Marcello Izzo. The eight-episode project will be shot in English.
The partners describe the story as set in a savage, scorched and deserted world where resources are scarce and it’s a daily struggle for survival. There, two men and two worlds will collide in an epic clash. That Dirty Black Bag will film next year in Italy and other southern European countries.
Formed in 1986 by Carlo Degli Esposti, Palomar’s credits include Detective Montalbano and Maltese. Upcoming, it’s got Roberto Saviano’s Gaddafi and the adaptation of Umberto Eco’s The Name Of The Rose.
Federation Entertainment will distribute That Dirty Black Bag. Run by veteran Pascal Breton, the company has carved out a key role in French drama and international co-productions over the past four years. Other credits include The Collection for BBC Worldwide and Amazon; Israeli thriller Hostages; Belgian drama The Break; and Norwegian dramedy One Night.
