Now we know Stranger Things is definitely getting a third series, all we want to know is: when?
Netflix.confirmed it had renewed the hit sci-fi show for another series at the start of the month.
And with its second series having dropped in October this year – just over a year after the first series landed – it’s highly anticipated they’ll be releasing season 3 in 2018, to continue with the pattern of one series per year.
Actor David Harbour, who plays Jim Hopper, told Variety: ‘I mean, one of the things that’s annoying for fans is that it takes us a long time to do them.
‘Like, you probably won’t get [Season 3] until sometime in 2019. But also part of the thing is, like any good thing, they need time.
‘And those guys work so hard. I mean, they just sit in their apartment and write for 12, 14 hours a day.’
Netflix announced there would be a third series with a comical tweet on their official Twitter page.
After a poll asking fans if they want more Stranger Things, the account wrote: ‘FOR THE LOVE OF STEVE, YES. Hold on to your nail bats. Season 3 is officially happening.’

The show’s second season released back in October this year, and was met with positive acclaim to match the first 80s nostalgia trip.
It also cemented the superstar status of its cast, featuring Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Winona Ryder and David Harbour.
Some fans however have picked fault over Eleven’s almost superhero-esque storyline, so it’ll be interesting to see how creators Matt and Ross Duffer approach her arc in the follow-up.
