The family of four bound and murdered in their home over Christmas have been named.
Shanta Myers, 36, her 22-year-old girlfriend Brandi Mells, five-year-old Shanise Myers and 11-year-old Jeremiah Myers were found dead in the basement of their home in Troy, Upstate New York, on Wednesday.

Police Chief James Tedesco said: ‘There are indications at the crime scene that this was not a random act.
‘We are certainly appealing to people in the community that would have any knowledge as to what may have transpired there to contact us as soon as possible.’
Cops aren’t giving away many details. It is not known how or why the family was murdered, but officers say they have reason to believe the family was targeted.
The victims, two women in a relationship, aged 36 and 22, and two children, an 11-year-old boy and five-year-old girl, have not been named.

No arrests have been made and there is no person of interest so far.
They were discovered the day after Christmas by the property manager. Family had grown concerned after they failed to answer phone calls on Christmas Day.
It is believed that another child, an older boy, was not in the home at the time of the murders.
Pastor Jackie Robinson Sr, of Oak Grove Baptist Church, told the Times Union: ‘Until they catch whoever they did this, there are certainly reasons to be fearful.
‘We don’t know who did it. Until we find out, it certainly makes sense to be vigilant and keep your doors locked.’
Police are appealing for information.
