A man has been found with guns and ammunition in his hotel room just hours ahead of New Year’s Eve celebrations.
US police say they arrested him after the weapons were discovered at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Houston in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police were initially called out at around 1.30am and were arresting the ‘drunk and belligerent man’ for trespassing when an officer spotted the ammunition lying in his room.
Local media reported that several guns were found in the room when backup arrived.
The man has been arrested on charges of unlawfully carrying a weapon and trespassing, according to KHOU Houston.

The hotel is planning a huge New Year’s Eve party tonight, with celebrations across four floors and live music.
A hotel spokesperson told the website the party will go ahead as planned but with extra security.
