Fans have ripped into Celebrity Big Brother for signing up Dapper Laughs and Jonny Mitchell for this year’s series, which was supposed to celebrate female empowerment.

This year’s CBB has so far pegged itself as the ‘Year Of The Woman’ – kicking off the series with an all-female house consisting of the likes of Anne Widdecombe, Amanda Barrie and India Willoughby.

This celebration of women however has been crashed by some slightly unsavoury guests, namely Daniel O’Reilly aka Dapper Laughs and Love Island’s Jonny Mitchell four days after the initial launch.

Daniel has previously faced criticism for joking about rape as the Dapper Laughs character, while Jonny has spoken out against feminism in the past (and even on the CBB sizzle reel).

It’s led many viewers to get unsurprisingly irate about the show’s intentions, with many seeing the celebration of women now being a bit of a joke.

They're really putting Jonny from #CBB for the Year of the Women series after the whole feminism debacle with Cam on Love Island where he literally said he didn't believe in any of it??? Are you actually taking the piss

#CBB: “We’re celebrating the year of the women!” Two days later: “Let’s throw in Dapper Laughs for lolz” ??‍♀️

When you realise they're sending Jonny, who upset the nation's sweetheart on Love Island by saying he doesn't believe in feminism, into the house for the Year of the Woman series #CBBpic.twitter.com/2mp2jr2BE1

CBB: let's celebrate women.#cbb: let's also pay Dapper Laughs tens of thousands of pounds

Fair.

This outrage however came second to Courtney Act’s dramatic entrance into the house, who hilariously lost her skirt while strutting the runway.

Daniel also spoke to Metro.co.uk ahead of his entrance into the house, saying how he’s hoping to ‘right some wrongs’ following his previous comments as Dapper Laughs.
