Fans of Dancing On Ice have slammed the judges after they chose to save Lemar over Stephanie Waring, despite Lemar tripping over during the week three skate off.

Stephanie was left in the bottom two with singer Lemar, and judges Jason Gardiner and Ashley Banjo opted to save the actress. But former pro skater Christopher Dean chose to save Lemar, and when it came down to head judge Jayne Torvill, she chose to save Lemar, meaning Stephanie had to leave the competition.

‘Controversial!’ exclaimed host Philip Schofield.

‘I have had the most amazing time,’ said Hollyaosk star Stephanie, before she thanked her professional partner Sylvain.

But the decision wasn’t taken lightly by fans of the show, who were pretty miffed that 39-year-old Lemar managed to skate for another week despite the fact he took a little tumble towards the end of the routine.

Dancing on Ice isn't even worth watching anymore, Steph deserved to go through against Lemar.. #DancingOnIce

Honestly? I really like Lemar but am not prepared to watch that Grenade routine for a third time next week, and this proves that Jason + Ashley have 0 input on the skate off result x x #DancingOnIce

Even no she didn’t trip at all in the skate off and lemar did but god knows where they get their logic from x

@dancingonice Don't agree with the decision. Why did Lemar do the same skate off routine as last wk?

I swear like even if Jake is in the skate off next week, Jayne and Chris will probably save Lemar after dancing to grenade for the third time lmao?‍♂️#DancingOnIce

The singer was attempting to do some spins when he lost his footing, but soon managed to compose himself and carry on with the routine.

Former X Factor contestant Jake Quickenden came away from tonight’s episode with the highest score of the evening, getting a score of 27.5 for his disco routine to Jamiroquai’s Canned Heat.

Dancing On Ice continues on Sunday at 6pm on ITV1.
