Lionsgate Television has signed a multiyear deal with Eric and Kim Tannenbaum, the veteran producers whose credits include Two and a Half Men, The Odd Couple reboot and most recently TBS The Last O.G. The pair via their production banner Tannenbaum Company had been based at CBS TV Studios for the past eight years.

Under the new deal, they will create scripted programming for the studio.

“Were delighted to partner with Eric and Kim, two of the most gifted and prolific television producers in the industry,” Lionsgate Television Group chairman Kevin Beggs said in announcing the news. “They have shepherded a roster of iconic series and we look forward to working together.”

The Tannebaum Co, whose credits also include Freeforms Young & Hungry and TV Lands Impastor, saw their newest series The Last O.G. — starring Tracy Morgan and Tiffany Haddish and executive produced by Jordan Peele — draw 1.8 million total viewers, with 882,000 in the key 18-49 demo in Live+Same Day in its April 3 premiere. It marked the biggest cable comedy premiere since 2016, the largest scripted cable comedy premiere since 2015 and the strongest TBS original debut ever, according to the network and Nielsen.

Eric Tannebaum was founder and president of Artists Television Group, president
of Columbia TriStar Television and EVP Television at New World Entertainment. At Columbia TriStar he helped shepherd comedies including Mad About You, The Nanny, The King of Queens, Dawsons Creek, and Party of Five. Kim Tannenbaum developed The Ellen Show and The Street while serving as EVP Creative Affairs at ATG, and King of Queens as a Columbia TriStar exec.

“Were thrilled to join Kevin, Sandra, Chris and the rest of the Lionsgate team,” the
Tannenbaums said. “Their television business is perfectly aligned with our own approach to creating great programming in an entrepreneurial and talent-friendly environment, and we can hardly wait to contribute to one of the most exciting slates in the industry today.”

The pair joins other creatives under the Lionsgate TV banner including Courtney Kemp, Paul Feig, Ed Zwick and Marshall Herskovitz, Joel Silver and John Goldwyn.
