Entertainment One Ramps Up TV Activities In The UK With Overall Deal For Fledgling Firm Fired Up Films

Entertainment One (eOne) has struck an overall deal with nascent British production company Fired Up Films.

The company will co-produce and serve as the studio on scripted and non-scripted content from Fired Up Films, which was established last year by former Kowalski Media chief Simon Howley and Million Dollar Car Hunters producer Jon-Barrie Waddell.

Fired Up Films, which has offices in the UK, Ireland and LA, aims to produce scripted and non-scripted shows, focusing on blue-chip documentaries factual entertainment formats, feature docs and drama projects.

Between the pair, who first worked together on groundbreaking Channel 4 series The Big Breakfast over 20 years ago, they have produced shows such as Nat Geos Hitlers Hidden Drug Habit, Discoverys How Jaws Changed The World, Animal Planets Texas Rodeo Tikes, Historys How Bruce Lee Changed The World and The Great Train Robbery – A Tale of Two Thieves, which airs on Netflix.

The deal is eOnes latest in the UK and comes after it acquired a majority stake in Ex On The Beach producer Whizz Kid Entertainment.

With a number of primetime series already in the pipeline, were certainly fired up to get going,” added the pair.
