Adult Swim has given a pilot order to half-hour comedy Three Busy Debras, from Amy Poehler and her Paper Kite production company.
Created, written, and starring Sandy Honig (Isnt It Romantic), Mitra Jouhari (Miracle Workers), Alyssa Stonoha (The Special Without Brett Davis), Three Busy Debras is described as an absurdist comedy that follows three disturbed housewives (played by Honig, Jouhari and Stonoha), and their fellow residents of an affluent Connecticut suburb that exists outside of reality as we know it.
Honig, Jouhari and Stonoha executive produce with Anna Dokoza (Baskets), who directs. Poehler and Kim Lessing executive produce via Poehlers Paper Kite Productions.
“Paper Kite is thrilled to help amplify the bold and bloody voices of the Three Busy Debras. We hope this show makes you feel strange in all the right ways,” said Poehler.
Jouhari was a writer on The President Show, and appeared in Friends From College, Broad City and feature The Big Sick.
Honig will next be seen in feature Isnt It Romantic set for a 2019 release. Her previous TV credits include Chris Gethard-created The Special Without Brett Davis.
Stonoha appeared in The Special Without Brett Davis, Rules of Cool and the Chris Gethard Show: Public Access Web Videos.
