Wendell Pierce has spoken about filming Suits season eight without Meghan Markle, while retelling the last words he said to her before she married Prince Harry.
The 54-year-old actor plays Markles on-screen father Robert Zane in the hit law drama, with the next season set to be the first without the actress after she departed with co-star Patrick J Adams in season sevens finale.
Since Markle got hitched to Prince Harry back in May, Pierce said he hadnt spoken to the actress, with his last words to her being while they filmed the shows wedding finale.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk, Pierce said: I havent spoken to her since. Our last moment was when she was filming the wedding on Suits.

I just got a chance to tell her privately, “listen your life is going to be totally different and the likelihood of seeing each other is going to be crazy. Youre going to be in a fishbowl. Just know that no matter what happens you have a friend. And never doubt you have someone as a friend.”

Confirming Robert Zane will return in the next season of Suits, Pierce explained how filming on the show wasnt a strange experience following Patrick and Meghans departure.
No its just been different, Pierce said. What happens is we introduce two new characters, so Katherine Heigl comes on the show and Dule Hill and theyre fantastic.
I just help introduce them.
Suits next season will see Katherine Heigl play new member of the legal team Samantha Wheeler, while Dule Hill has been promoted to series regular status as Alex Williams who was introduced in season seven.
Along with the new season, Suits is also getting a spin-off led by Gina Torres character Jessica Pearson, which will be titled Second City.

Suits season eight is set to air on USA Network on July 18, 2018, with UK release yet to be announced.
