Leigh-Anne Pinnock has called out Love Island for its lack of diversity on the show.

The 26-year-old Little Mix star has said shes tuning out of the ITV2 favourite as only five members of the 24-strong cast are people of colour.

Proving she means business, Leigh-Anne used the official Twitter page of the band in order to voice her frustrations.

She wrote: How many weeks in and we are yet to see hardly any diversity in [Love Island]? Im tuning off! #disappointed #diversity x Leigh

The stars comments as fans have announced theyre bored of seeing the same looking people in the show – with the 12 new villa-mates looking eerily similar to those already on the show.

Leigh-Annes sister Sairah has been reported to be lined up to enter the villa, but is as of yet to make an appearance.

Sairah is one of the Love Island reserves who could be thrown into the mix at any time during one of the episodes, an insider told The Sun in May.

They added: Sairah is just as glam as her famous sister and is a real party girl as she even runs her own party planning business.

It appears that Leigh-Anne isnt the only person watching at home who has noticed the distinct lack of people of colour.

One wrote: Its actually a disgrace that ITV and Love Island still have a lack of diversity when it comes to choosing people to go in the villa, its 2018 diversity is needed!!

Another added: [Love Island] have seriously have to up their diversity game if they wanna be well respected, stop bringing in the same manufactured clones n bring in the redheads, ethnic minorities, the lgbtq+, etc. its fucking shallow and planet earth doesnt just consist of blondes n brunettes.

The lack of diversity is actually disgusting, said a third. A show like this with THOUSANDS of applications cant mix it up and add a few people of other ethnicities is atrocious. Also the fact that NONE of the new lads like Samira? Disappointed in [Love Island].
