The Rovers Return is soon set to have a new name above the door now that Peter Barlow and Toyah Battersby are selling up in Coronation Street – and if Henry Newton gets his way, it will be Gemma Winters! But as he makes a grand gesture, can she trust him?

Gemma kicked sleazy Henry to the kerb when she realised that the loaded lothario had only been dating her as part of a cruel bet with his snobby mate Hugo. However, despite being caught out, Henry insisted that he actually had fallen for Gemma but it was too late.

Now, Chesney Brown has his eye on a romance with his good friend and Cathy Matthews reckons now is the time for him to make a move. While Gemma reads on social media that Henry is engaged, Chesney comforts her and she thanks him for being the best friend ever.

Cathy warns Chesney that he could soon miss the boat if he doesnt tell Gemma how he truly feels and she leaves him panicking when she threatens to tell her instead. As Chesney takes Gemma to the bistro for lunch, he braces himself for the big moment – only for Henry to rock up right in the middle of their date!

Henry declares his love before Chesney can and tells her that his parents forced him to get engaged to Cressida by threatening to disinherit him. Gemma rejects him but he announces that he has told his parents to stick their inheritance – and has instead bought the Rovers for Gemma so he can be with her and run it with her!

As Gemma looks set to fall back under Henrys spell, he later quickly kills a call from his father while Chesney and Cathy warn her that he is not to be trusted.

Is she about to get hurt all over again – or has she got an exciting future ahead as the landlady of the Rovers?

Recent reports however seem to show that this dream is short lived as Johnny and Jenny will become the eventual owners of the beloved boozer.

One to watch: Wednesday 18th July at 8:30pm on ITV.
