A 24-year-old man has been charged on suspicion of killing a 36-year-old in a hotel in Stockholm in January this year.

The crime, which occurred at a hotel in Bromma in the west of the Swedish capital, was committed using a tablet computer as a weapon, Expressen reports.

The 24-year-old was arrested a few days after the suspected murder on suspicion of having committed the crime.

During police interviews, he is said to have admitted being in a dispute with the victim which ended in physical confrontation. He said he used a “loudspeaker and an iPad” as weapons during the fight, according to Expressens report.

The victim was found with 20 stabbing and knife wounds on his body according to details of the investigation published by Expressen. Evidence from the scene includes a tablet connected to both suspect and victim.

The 24-year-old has claimed he acted in self defence, his lawyer Rodney Humphreys told the newspaper. The prosecution is demanding a murder conviction and that the man be deported from Sweden.

The trial will take place at Solna District Court.
