If theres one thing that Doctor Who fans know, is that theres nothing accidental when it comes to the Whoniverse.

And while the teaser trailer for the upcoming series didnt give much away, theres was one cheeky little callback that got fans excited.

The Beano mag the doctor leaves behind for Bradley Walshs character, Graham.

As Graham reads a newspaper in a chip shop, the Doctor makes a flying visit and as quick of a flash of glowing regeneration sparkle, hes all of a sudden clutching a 1981 Summer Special issue of the kids comic.

For those in the know, this is not the first time that the magazine has made an appearance on the show – and it was actually a call back to previous episode The Rings of Akhaten, an 80s based episode during Matt Smiths reign as the doctor.

Throughout the episode, Matts Doctor (number Eleven) used the comic to hide behind while he spied on Clara Oswalds parents.

Bradley Walsh, most known for his role presenting The Chase, will be testing out his acting chops and will be joining the team as Graham.

Former Hollyoaks stars Mandip Gill and Tosin Cole have also been cast as series regulars, with Cole, who played Neil Cooper in Hollyoaks, playing Ryan, and Mandip playing Yasmin.

Jodie made her Doctor Who debut last Christmas when Peter Capaldi regenerated into his first ever female form.

Christopher Ecclestone, David Tennant and Matt Smith have also upheld the sonic screwdriver and TARDIS keys since the show was rebooted in 2005.

After the transformation, Jodie (now #13) barely had time for an ah, brilliant! before being thrown from the TARDIS as it burst into flames.
