Imagine, if you will, being at a premiere with Meryl Streep, Andy García, and—drumrollCher. Now imagine hearing, from across the room, Chers unmistakable voice calling out to you with these unforgettable words: “Hey, you high-kicking bitch!” Hearing this would make you not only extremely lucky, but also Christine Baranski on Monday night.

As the actress told Seth Meyers on Wednesdays Late Night, the Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again casts press tour has been a bit of a whirlwind—one that culminated with the films premiere in London. Images from the premiere have been regaling social media all week—particularly the one of Streep and Cher kissing—but Baranski shared a story that couldnt be captured on camera.

In both the original Mamma Mia! film and its sequel, which debuts this Friday, Baranski pulls off some seriously impressive high kicks. As Baranski told Meyers, that move comes courtesy of her “one good leg,” as she smashed the kneecap on her other one while prepping for a musical. (As Meyers quipped, “They say all you really need in Hollywood is one good leg.”) Apparently, Baranskis flexibility impressed even the Queen of Comebacks, who made sure to say so during the premiere.

“[Cher] was across the room,” Baranski recalled, “and I had my favorite Cher moment. It was just mine alone. She actually, across the [premiere party], she went, Hey, you high-kicking bitch!”

Naturally, Baranski wasnt the only one to walk away from the production with a great Cher story. Just before Baranski appeared on Late Night, Amanda Seyfried, hanging out with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, offered her own story. This one, however, was a little more embarrassing.

“Shes the funniest, most honest person Ive ever met,” Seyfried said of her legendary co-star. “I was so nervous; I was so intimidated that the first day I met her, I didnt want to be in her way, and I said, Hey, its so nice to meet you; I play Sophie; Im your granddaughter; so excited that youre here; boy, its gonna be fun! I gotta go. Ill let you to it.” With that, Seyfried recalled, she scurried away, terrified of making a nuisance of herself. Apparently, Cher wasnt quite sure how to interpret it.

“The next day, we were shooting, and she was like, I just didnt think you wanted to hang out with me! You were so quick to leave,” Seyfried recalled Cher saying. Seyfried was quick to say it was just the opposite—everyone on set wanted to hang out with Cher. “From what Ive heard, and from what she said,” Seyfried said, “she had the best time ever.” As they say, alls well that ends well—especially if a high kick is involved.
