David Metcalfe has had a turbulent few months on Emmerdale but it looks like the drama just keeps coming for the popular character.
Actor Matthew Wolfenden dropped hints that Davids burgeoning relationship with Maya Cavanagh would continue, during an appearance on This Morning.
“David and Maya will end up together, and there is a big storyline coming up for both of them,” Matthew said. “Its going to be huge over the next few months.” It seems as though David and Mayas one night together will develop into much more.
But theres trouble ahead for the pair. Maya is still married to Dr Cavanagh, who has repeatedly clashed with David and even told him about Tracys abortion. In upcoming episodes Cavanagh will give a veiled warning about Maya to Tracy, who becomes concerned. But what could Mayas ex be hinting at – and is he just bitter?

Whatever the storyline it may unfold slowly as Emmerdale bosses are planning to keep Maya and David involved for the long term. But does this mean Davids relationship with Tracy is over for good? He kind of loses the plot a little bit as he jumps straight into bed with Maya, the classic rebound effect, Matthew previously said.
David must know by now that its never quiet on the Dales.
