Megan Barton Hansons beloved dog has passed away, and the Love Island star doesnt know yet.

The 24-year-old bought Pomeranian Pumpkin two years ago, but sadly, the dog had to be put down after being diagnosed with stomach cancer.

The dogs stomach haemorrhaged a week after Megan entered the villa, and a family friend said the reality star will be devastated.

A source told The Sun: She brought her from a Pomeranian breeder when she was just eight weeks old.

One week after she entered the villa, Pumpkin was taken to the vet where Megans family was told the pooch had suspected stomach cancer which then haemorrhaged.

Pumpkin was Megans little baby and no doubt it will be a huge blow for her to find out what has happened.

Megan is on track to reach the final of Love Island on 30 July, as she is one of just three official couples left in the villa.

Last week, the model and stripper asked Wes Nelson to be her boyfriend, and the pair dropped the L bomb just weeks after Megan ditched Wes for new boy Alex Miller.

The couple seem blissfully happy at the moment – so much so that Megan seems to have disappeared from our screens due to the lack of drama.

As well as Megan and Wes, Jack and Dani and Josh and Kaz are in official couples, while Jack and new Laura, Alex and Alexandra, Paul and

Laura and Stephanie and Josh are all paired off.

Another couple is set to be dumped from the island in tomorrow nights show, following the exit of Georgia and Sam earlier this week.

Love Island continues at 9pm on Sunday night on ITV2.
