If youve been watching Final Space on Netflix chances are youve fallen a little bit in love with Mooncake.
The round green alien – who becomes best friend to main character Gary Goodspeed in the animated series – has won everybody over with his presence, his babbling away in a nonsensical language, and just his overall cuteness.
But just who is behind that squeaky, adorable Mooncake voice – and what about Gary? And isnt David Tennant in the show too?

So who voices Mooncake and Gary then?
The voices of Mooncake and Gary Goodspeed -the astronaut searching for the end of the universe in the show – are both voiced by the same person, series creator Olan Rogers.
Olan, 31, is a filmmaker, writer and producer whos previously worked on short films as well as starring on his own YouTube channel – before going on to create Final Space in 2016.

The show started life as a pilot episode which he uploaded on to YouTube – with Conan OBrien seeing the video and suggesting he pitch the series to Turner Broadcasting (TBS)
It ultimately sparked a bidding war before it was picked up by TBS in the US and turned into a ten-part series.
Who does David Tennant play in the series?
In case you hadnt realised, the former Doctor and Broadchurch star provides the voice of the villainous Lord Commander as well as his alter ego Jack.
He joins a cast which also includes Fred Armisen as the robot KVN, Ron Perlman as Garys father John Goodspeed and Coty Holloway as Garys feline sidekick Avocato.
Will the show return for a second series?
It will, as TBS announced in May that the show is getting a second run after proving a big hit for the channel.
According to the Hollywood Reporter the show has been seen by over 20m viewers across various platforms including TV, digital and on-demand – all of which makes it a prime candidate for more episodes.
