Hollyoaks actress Sophie Porley has reportedly quit the soap, setting the stage for a dramatic exit for her character Ellie Nightingale.
The news was first broken by The Sun Online. An insider told the publication that Sophie was interested in different roles.
Sophie is ready to move on to pastures new, the insider said.
Shes moving back down South and is going to take a small break before heading to auditions. Shes loved her time on the show but now shes ready to move on.
Sophie joined Hollyoaks in 2015. Ellie Nightingale is a much loved character and is currently expecting a child with Sami Maalik, though the two have clashed recently. Ellie also has no idea that Sami framed her brother, James, for Kyle Kellys murder.
Will the two part ways before Ellies exit? Or will Sami have to take drastic measures to keep his innocent facade intact?

Sophie is reportedly looking to work on other projects later this year, so fans wont have to wait much longer to find out.
