Eamonn Holmes has joked that he hasnt been in a scrap after revealing he has a nasty shingles rash that has covered half of his face.
Shingles – a highly irritating and painful skin reaction, created by the same virus as chicken pox – can be highly painful to treat and look after, and poor Eamonn certainly got a bad hit of it.
Posting on Instagram, it was clear that Eamonn was struggling to not scratch the itchy rash, which has left his eye swollen, lumps across his skin, and small lesions to form on his forehead.
Thankfully, he was able to look on the bright side of it all, and even joked: I know I look as though Ive been in a scrap but honestly I havent. Its worse than that – its Shingles.

Other effects of shingles include; fever, nausea, headaches, stabbing pains and blisters.
Basically, its a pretty nasty condition.
Eamonn and his wife Ruth Langsford have been taking over hosting duties from Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield while they take their summer holidays.
However, Shingles can be triggered if you have a low immune system or are particularly run down.

As a result, fans have encouraged him to take some time out in order to recover.
Rylan Clark-Neal replaced him next to Ruth Langsford while he got better.
This Morning continues weekdays at 10.30am on ITV1.
