Barry Chuckle was remembered for the fun-filled character he was on tonights episode of Chuckle Time as the team said farewell to the late star.

The 73-year-old, who has passed away after a prolonged illness, was seen looking baffled by a virtual reality headset as his brother Paul, 70, introduced the home movie clip show.

He later showed off an existential crisis robot, and was jumping up and down on a trampoline as his straight-laced brother Paul looked on bemused.

In an unintentionally poignant moment, Barry joked that he had created the robot so he could be replaced without anyone noticing.

He later joked that he didnt feel well – because hed eaten five a day of everything, including five tubs of butter.

The show ended with Paul and Barry waving goodbye, with the promise to see you next time.

Ahead off the show airing, the announcer sent their condolences and said: Thank you for all the smiles – our thoughts are with his family and friends.

Viewers as well shared their thoughts on the loss of the kids TV legend, and thanked him for giving them one last laugh.

A statement from his manager Phil Dale obtained by Metro.co.uk confirmed his death today.

It read: It is with great sadness that the family announce that Barry passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his wife Ann and all his family.

The statement continued: The family would like to express their thanks to the many people who have been fans of The Chuckle Brothers and they know that they will share in part, the great, great loss they feel.

There will be no further comment at the moment and it would be much appreciated if the privacy of Barrys family is respected at this most difficult time.

Paul added: Ive not just lost my brother, Ive lost my theatrical partner of many, many years and my very best friend.
