X Factor viewers have offered their verdict on the first live show of this years series, and theyre not exactly singing its praises.

This series sees Robbie Williams, Ayda Field, Louis Tomlinson and Simon Cowell on judging duties, with 16 acts going through to the live shows.

The first round saw both hiccups and outrage, with Danny Tetley suffering a false start after the show announced the wrong contestants name.

Elsewhere, Robbie Williams riled up One Direction fans after branding his act, United Vibe, leaps and bounds beyond them.

The show, so far, has continued The X Factors slide in ratings – with it yet to be seen whether the live shows can salvage some hope.

Judging by early word, however, it doesnt seem too rosy.

XFactor has too many contestants this year. This shows been dragging on far too long. Need a couple of double evictions #XFactor

#XFactor Wtf!!! First time I've actually watched it this year and all the acts are rubbish!! Judges appear to be deaf … singers tone deaf!!

There were however some defenders.

all in all I think this was one of the best live shows Ive seen. usually acts will struggle to find their style for a good couple of weeks but this year theyre all flying! great to see! highlights were Shan, Molly, Brendan and misunderstood #XFactor
