While the latest installment in the long line of Halloween movies killed it at the box office this weekend as expected, A Star Is Born and Venom both held their own in their third weeks of release.

According to Variety, Halloween is projected to earn $77.5 million in claiming the No 1 slot. The film, a direct sequel to the 1978 classic, seems guaranteed to make some more cash during its perfectly timed drop just in time for the spooky season, but the No. 2 and No. 3 contenders show few signs of slowing down.

A Star Is Born, grabbed the number two spot, projected to make $19.3 million this weekend adding to an overall gross of $126.4 million, per Variety. Its not surprising that the film is still rolling—its cultural impact has been overwhelming from the soundtrack, to Lady Gaga and Bradley Coopers ongoing press tour to the many, many memes.

Venom, starring Tom Hardy as the journalist alien hybrid, has also showed surprising legs. The film has received pretty mixed reviews—many pretty bad but theres a small but fervent camp who loved the bonkers superhero film. And Venoms box office numbers show, as it slides into the third spot, making $18.1 million adding to its $171.1 gross.
