Thugs of Hindostan will release on November 8.

Be it the life-size sets, elaborate action scenes or its well-crafted costumes, everything about Thugs of Hindostan boasts of immense hard work. In the latest video released by the makers, we get to see how the costume department designed the look of each character. Starring Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Sheikh, Thugs of Hindostan is a period drama revolving around the rise of the British East India Company and the times when the Thugs posed a threat to the crown.

In the video titled Chapter 5, costumes designer duo Rushi Sharma and Manoshi Nath talk in detail about bringing to life characters like Firangi, Khudabaksh, Zafira, Suraiyya and Sanichar. According to them, the motive was to have costumes that reflected the distinct characteristics of each Thug.

In the video, the actors shared their experience of getting into their respective look. For Aamir Khan, apart from his dhoti, the rest of his attire were made to look like it was stolen by him, be it his jackets or his hat. He even carried little things like a pouch and a binocular. Amitabh Bachchans look was a mix of “a warrior who is a farmer at heart”. Big B revealed the difficulty he faced in shooting the rain scenes when the leather on his dress would become heavy.

Fatima Sana Sheikh, who is an archer in Thugs of Hindostan, had to undergo a costume test for 5-6 hours until the designers finally locked her look. Fatima shared the challenge for her was getting hair extensions every day for 4 hours before the start of the shoot. The designers also said they kept in mind Suraiyyas layered character, to give Katrina the corresponding costumes. Her look had a bohemian feel with muslin blouses. Katrina also shared she loved her final look, complete with a nose ring.

Thugs of Hindostan is slated for a release on November 8 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
