The X Factors Scarlett Lee gave her best performance yet on Saturday after burning her eye during a house fire earlier in the week.

The make-up artist was rushed to hospital after helping her brothers family escape a fire in their mobile home on Monday and received medical attention to remove embers in her eye.

Though X Factor bosses gave the 20-year-old time to recover, the incident didnt stop Scarlet taking to the stage on Saturday and giving the performance of her life, as she insisted: Ive got a show to do.

Speaking in the VT ahead of her performance, Scarlett admitted: These last days have been really really tough for me, Ive had to have a few days off due to a family emergency.

My brothers home caught fire and I was running in and out of it, thats how my eye got damaged. My eye got burnt.

Though the Surrey resident shed a few tears as she recalled the event, she insisted it wasnt going to jeopardise her performance and said the main thing to remember was that everyone was safe and well.

And her moral was boosted further by receiving a phone call from Little Mix member Jesy Nelson, who reportedly first contacted Scarlett after watching her audition.

Reassuring Scarletts nerves, Jesy told the X Factor hopeful to believe in herself and wished her luck for Saturday.

I know that its been a tough few days for me but nothing is going to get in my way because this is my dream so Im going to fight as hard as I can to make sure Im here for the next week, Scarlett added before taking the stage.

The singer went on to kill her performance of Annie Lennoxs I Put a Spell on You, with the singer received a standing ovation from the judges and Ayda Field and Simon Cowell dubbing it her best performance yet.
