Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh tied the knot on November 14
For anyone who doesnt know (which seems unlikely), Bollywood stars Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone finally became man and wife after two weddings in Italy on November 14 and 15. The elaborate wedding ceremonies were held in an Italian resort overlooking the stunning Lake Como. In fact, the couple on Thursday shared the first set of photos from the wedding on their respective Instagram handles. While the November 14 wedding was done in Konkani style, the November 15 ceremony followed the North Indian tradition.
The couple, who reportedly fell in love on the sets of the Sanjay Leela Bhansali blockbuster Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela in 2013, first announced their wedding dates on Twitter. The wedding card read, “With the blessings of our families, it gives us immense joy in sharing that our wedding is set to take place on the 14th and 15th November 2018. We thank you for all the love you have showered upon us over the years and seek your blessings as we embark on this incredible journey of love, loyalty, friendship and togetherness.”

The pre-wedding festivities kicked off with a Nandi puja in Deepikas hometown in Bengaluru. Dressed in a beautiful saffron suit, the actor looked lovely as she smiled and posed with her near and dear ones during the function. After a few days, Ranveer Singh was spotted in his Mumbai home with haldi on his face and hands. Later, they were seen heading to Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Farah Khans homes in order to invite them for the wedding reception. Farah even shared an image with the actors on social media.
Farah wrote, “My babys getting married!! Lov u @deepikapadukone n @ranveersingh .. for coming home 
now just follow all the instructions on the card i gave you ll” While Farah introduced Deepika to Bollywood, Bhansali has collaborated with the actors on three films.
A few days later, the couple was captured in all-white at the Mumbai airport heading for their destination wedding in Italy. Both Ranveer and Deepika looked happy as can be as they waved to the shutterbugs. The wedding was held at Villa del Balbianello at Lake Como in Italy.

While the wedding is done with, fans still have a lot to look forward to as the actors plan to host not one, but two wedding receptions. The first wedding reception will be held in Bengaluru on November 21. The reception will be held in The Leela Palace from 5 pm onwards. The second reception will be held in Mumbai on November 28. The celebration will begin in The Grand Hyatt.

For those who missed the updates, the wedding was a close-knit family affair with only 40 guests in attendance. The guests werent allowed to take photos and the festivities were performed under strict vigilance with three levels of security. Each guest was received personally by the couple with handwritten notes. The wedding festivities in Italy kicked off with an engagement ceremony and according to reports, Ranveer went down on one knee to ask for Deepikas hand in marriage. Following this, the actor made an emotional speech which moved Deepika to tears. The two then matched steps, dressed in black and white.

The engagement ceremony was followed by the mehendi ritual, wherein the couple wore designer Sabyasachis creations. Singer Harshdeep Kaur performed at Deepika and Ranveers sangeet. According to a report by IANS, the guests were told not to bring any gifts and to donate to their hearts desire to Deepikas The Live Love Laugh foundation.

As guests came pouring in, it was reported that the Konkani wedding went on for four hours. South Indian chefs were flown in for the big day and the food was later served on banana leaves. Basically, the whole thing was a sweet and intimate affair, with close friends and family in attendance. As Deepika and Ranveer take the first few steps towards their married life, heres wishing them a lifetime of happiness and togetherness.
