Kit Harington became a sobbing mess when he finished filming his final Game of Thrones season 8 scene.

Its never the right time to say goodbye, so when you are forced to you cant help but weep a little bit. Just ask Kit.

The Jon Snow actor opened up about the emotional moment.

The actor has previously revealed how hard it was reading the end of the show during the table read and has now admitted his final moments in action were very similar.

I burst into tears, Harington told BBC Breakfast. You know, its a weird thing. Im not sad about it ending. I just feel very joyous about it ending and having completed it.

But it doesnt make it any less emotional, he added.

The 31-year-old previously discussed going into the table read without reading the scripts beforehand.

I walked in saying, “Dont tell me, I dont want to know,'” he said. Whats the point of reading it to myself in my own head when I can listen to people do it and find out with my friends?

Speaking of crying – not just once, but twice – the actor said: The second time was the very end. Every season, you read at the end of the last script “End of Season 1” or “End of Season 2”. This read “End of Game of Thrones”. And you realise, OK, its really happening.

Jon Snow in Game of Thrones

At the end of the last season – which was aired in 2017 – Jon managed to find himself in bed with his aunt Daenerys Targaryen. The only thing is that the two of them have no idea that they are related in any way shape or form.

While their night of passion was playing out we were learning that Jon was actually the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark, raising all sorts of predictions for season eight and revealing that Jon and Daenerys are related.

But who will be the one to tell them? Whoever they are, better them than us.

Well actually, Jon might end up finding all of this out from The Night King, of all people, who now has an undead dragon (its a thing) at his disposal.

Remember when Daenerys was placed on a pyre in season six but remained completely unscathed (dont try at home)? She subsequently proved that Targaryens are immune to fire and thus Jon will also share the same power.

Only, hes yet to really be confronted with (icey?) fire, but should he be attacked with the blue flames from the army of the deads new beast, Jons lineage may become clear.

Oh…

Or Sam Tarly and Bran Stark – who discovered the truth – could just tell him when they see him.

More: Game Of Thrones

George RR Martin recently announced that Rhagar Taragryan knew the impending war between the living and the dead was coming and thus became the catalyst behind his mission to unite the Seven Kingdoms.

In turn, the Game of Thrones author basically confirmed a long-standing theory that Jon Snow is Azor Ahai – aka The Prince That Was Promised – and will likely be the light to end the dark in season eight.

We hope …

Game of Thrones returns to Sky Atlantic and HBO in April 2019.
