Is the world ready for another adaptation of Les Miserables? PBSs Masterpiece thinks so. The long-running, classics-centered production outfit is behind a new six-part miniseries based on Victor Hugos 1862 novel, which covers the timespan of 1815 to the 1832 June Rebellion in Paris.

The story has become a cultural touchstone thanks largely to its 1980s stage musical adaptation—a film version of which netted Anne Hathaway an Oscar in 2012. But even without the strains of “I Dreamed a Dream,” the PBS version is pretty stacked. Lily Collins will take on the role of Fantine, David Oyelowo as Javert, and Dominic West as Jean Valjean. Plus, it has Olivia Colman, a current Oscar hopeful for her role in The Favourite.

The series is written by Andrew Davies, who is known for his work writing Bridget Jones Diary and the PBS version of Pride & Prejudice which made women worldwide understand the appeal of Colin Firth. Its slated to drop sometime in 2019 on Masterpiece.
