Kit Harington is so completely done with Game of Thrones that he doesnt even want to entertain the idea of popping up in one of the many spin-offs flickering their way to life. In an interview with the BBC, the (almost) erstwhile Jon Snow said that while ending the series, which wrapped production on its final season this year, was poignant, hes also ready to say goodbye to all that.

“It was emotional to leave the job—definitely,” he said. “But I wouldnt say I was sad. If like me, you go all the way back to the pilot of Game of Thrones, thats almost 10 years of your life—thats really unusual in an actors career. It was a huge emotional upheaval leaving that family. But would I want to go back and do more? Not on your life.”

Not on your life! He wants to fly free! Harington is weary, and decidedly not from the Mariska Hargitay school of actors who will happily play the same role for decades on end (and bountiful dollar signs). Harington is so ready for this show to be over, in fact, that when asked if he would even consider filming a single, solitary scene on the off chance that a Thrones spin-off could use a glimpse of Jon Snow, his answer was an “unequivocal no.” Once its over, its over. Savor his final appearances while you can.

There were, at one point, many Thrones spin-offs in the ether, but one in particular has crystallized over the last few weeks. Naomi Watts was cast as the lead in the upcoming prequel series, created by Jane Goldman (Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Kick-Ass) and Thrones creator George R.R. Martin. The series has not yet been titled, but Martin let slip that it might be called The Long Night. However, he walked back his claims after spoiler-averse HBO nudged him to declare that theres no official title yet.

Martin did, however, also say that there “are still a couple of other possible prequels in active development,” gently implying that dragon riders might be involved in one of the story lines. But you know who definitely wont be involved? Kit Harington. Jon Snow is a free man, and hes never looking back.
