Red Nose Day, the national fundraising campaign to end child poverty, returns to NBC for the annual three-hour primetime charity special on May 23, 2019.

Created by Love Actually and Notting Hill writer-director Richard Curtis, Red Nose Day has raised nearly $150 million since launching in the U.S. in 2015, and has helped more than 16 million children in the U.S. and around the world.

Included as part of the programming for the 2019 special will be previously announced short film One Red Nose Day And A Wedding, written by Curtis, who penned the original film Four Weddings and a Funeral. Cast includes Four Weddings stars Hugh Grant, Andie MacDowell, Kristin Scott Thomas, John Hannah, Rowan Atkinson, James Fleet, David Haig, Sophie Thompson, David Bower, Robin McCaffrey, Anna Chancellor, Rupert Vansittart, Simon Kunz, Sara Crowe and Timothy Walker. Four Weddings director Mike Newell directs the new installment, which picks up 25 years after the original film.

Comic Relief USA , the nonprofit that runs Red Nose Day, also announced the renewal of all core partners Comcast NBCUniversal, Walgreens, Mars Wrigley Confectionery and The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in support of the campaigns mission. NBC is the campaigns exclusive broadcast television partner and provides promotional support across Comcast NBCUniversal.

“One of the most rewarding parts about having a broadcast network is being able to use that vast reach to make a positive impact on the world,” said Paul Telegdy and George Cheeks, Co-Chairmen, NBC Entertainment. “Year after year were able leverage our hit shows, top celebrity talent and strong affiliate network to grow the awareness of and connection to Red Nose Day. The shows ability to inspire millions of viewers to raise money to help eradicate global child poverty make this one of our most important nights of television all year.”
