EastEnders fans are in for some action packed scenes as Tamzin Outhwaite and Sean Mahon have been filming stunts for their new year showdown – which could leave one or both of them dead in a shock twist!
Mel Owens revenge is all set up and ready to go on her wedding day to duplicitous Ray Kelly, who is utterly oblivious to what she is planning. As the residents arrive, expecting to be at a run of the mill wedding, Mel executes her plan but soon things start to backfire and theres a very dangerous showdown afoot which could have serious consequences. But who will survive?
Tamzin told Metro.co.uk: There is stunt work involved. Im loving it! Im doing lots of fun stuff. Action wise, its explosive.
All that training I did after leaving EastEnders is all coming back. In The Fix, I used to do all my own stunts and in other dramas. EastEnders cant do that kind of thing on a weekly basis as theres just too much to shoot so I feel quite lucky. All the scripts are brilliant!
Sean is equally thrilled to be taking part in the dramatic sequences and added: I love stunts. Theyre the best thing. Thats the great thing about Tamzin, were very similar that way, the more physical, the better the acting is.

It becomes less about the words but the emotion comes more from the physicality of it all. So the more running around, the more real it is. We kept asking do the scenes again. Its like being a kid and playing cowboys and Indians, how often do you get to do that?
And while he would miss playing the mysterious villain if he were to meet a sticky end, the actor added that sometimes its inevitable that a comeuppance has to follow.
He mused: Every story has a villain, an antagonist, so there has to be a pay off in some shape or form. The way that pay off comes, hopefully is different. If it ever came to a time where Ray had to go, its very disappointing because you love working with these people, but if it serves the story, it serves the story.
Im not blowing smoke, its been the greatest job. I was offered this part because of work Ive done before and because of the type of characters Im leaning towards at the moment. I was I my teens when EastEnders first started, then I moved to America and was gone for 25 years – it wasnt really on my radar.
To live in the UK and know that its such an iconic part of society and experience it now through people that stop me – everybody watches it. People stop me all the time. Some people are a bit bonkers and some people are genuinely enthralled and are grateful for the story and just very happy.
Tamzins been fantastic and the writers have done a great job because theyve really woven Ray into all of Albert Square. For me, to interact with everyone and play with that, its just been glorious.
