It seems like a challenging stint in the jungle has only sharpened Anne Hegertys edges.

The Chases self-appointed Governess was on sparkling sassy form yesterday (3 January) as she returned to screens on the ITV game show to bring about more misery for the quizzing challengers.

Pulling out one-liners such as when I go swimming with sharks, theyre the ones that need the cage, Hegerty no doubt had viewers smirking with delight at her return following her recent appearance on Im A Celebrity.

Hegerty completed an impressive 18 days in the jungle before she became the fifth campmate to be voted off by the public in early December.

Back in her natural environment as a Chaser, Hegerty delivered a string of put-downs in her comeback episode which aired yesterday.

She took particular delight in mocking young contestant Heidi shortly after she confessed that her copy-writing job involved her deploying a technique of 75% knowledge, and 25% winging it.

Hello Heidi, she greeted the Southampton-based contestant after one difficult round. Yeah, [that round] looked to me more like 25% knowledge, and 75% winging it.

The Chasers include stand-up comedian Paul 'The Sinnerman' Sinha; Anne 'The Governess' Hegerty; Shaun 'The Barrister' Wallace; Mark 'The Beast' Labbett; and Jenny 'The Vixen' Ryan.

Host Bradley Walsh quickly stepped to Heidis defence, reasoning to Hegerty that younger players often fall foul to questions that fall outside of their age arena.

If only somebody would invent books, Hegerty brilliantly – and dismissively – retorted.

Its good to have you back, Anne.
